Day and night based shifts

A leading chilled foods manufacturer with a site in the Spalding area are now seeking Production Area Leader / Production Team Leaders to support their day and night shifts. The Production Area Leader / Production Team Leader will be responsible for supervising developing and motivating their team in a consistent and safe way and in an environment of continuous improvement, focused on producing products to specified quality and customer standards in a cost efficient manner.

The successful Production Area Leader / Production Team Leader will have previous experience of supervising teams in a modern, fast paced manufacturing environment; experience within food would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You will have a positive ‘can do` attitude with proven experience of working in a team environment.

Responsibilities of the Production Area Leader / Production Team Leader include:
Encourage a safe working environment for all employees by supporting and enforcing Group Health and Safety policy.
Ensure team are performing to quality standards in terms of GMP, food safety, product quality etc.
Manage performance and attendance of the team including first level formal written disciplinary action, performance review, and absence management. 
Ensure that operatives are coached and trained in all aspects of their role, including health and safety, GMP, food safety standards and quality control procedures in order to maintain a cross - functional, multi - skilled workforce.
Participate in NPD processes and production trials to ensure that they run successfully.
Manage improvement activities including KPIs, waste management and production control processes and associated administration and record keeping.
Manage breaks and the shift changeover process. 
Undertake team briefs on a daily basis that focus on key performance measures aligned to local productivity and performance and to wider business issues.
In conjunction with HR participate in staff recruitment processes and induction.
Carry out necessary administrative tasks and produce data / reports as required.
