Foodjob Denmark is looking for an experienced R&D professional with a strong insight regarding feed and nutritional background with relevant research experience in fish farming, animal or fish nutrition.

Job description

Experience from the feed or food ingredients industry would also be of value for the position. The position will be based at company locations in Western Denmark, and refers to the Group R&D Manager.

The position is a new role, and will offer opportunities for developing marine ingredients for future aquaculture and livestock feeds, for global markets. Knowledge about other raw materials and ingredients will also be important for the job. The main working location will be at the company's factory in Thyborøn, but travelling to other countries for following up on R&D projects and partnerships will be needed. The R&D Specialist should have a solid academic and professional basis, an independent personality and a strong drive for innovation. The TrippleNine Group has a strong focus on the potential of optimisation of raw materials, supply chain, quality and new innovative opportunities to drive value creation for the company and its clients.

The position should strengthen the organization on the development of applications and nutritional insight on protein products and consulting for chemical and microbiological challenges. The right candidate has several years of experience in similar positions in industry, preferably with a hands-on background within R&D, production, sales, laboratory and technical equipment, and will ensure well-functioning, solution-oriented optimization projects with production, research partners, clients and other stakeholders. The right candidate is a Ph.D. in Biology, Food Science, Engineering, Agronomy or similar with a great nutritional/chemical understanding and strong ability to translate theory into practice.

The R&D Specialist is able to analyze complex challenges of both commercial and research based nature, and come up with solutions on how these challenges are handled and resolved. Assignment work is done in cooperation with the department's other employees, but you are the key expert in the Group, and you will be a strong driver in R&D considerations.'

It is crucial that the right candidate is a creative problem solver, who can thrive on freedom and responsibility in an cross-functional role, work at high speed with different types of projects involving several types of employees, suppliers and customers and thrive with both commercial support tasks as well as quality, production and resource management tasks.

Personal skills:

  • Practical experience from an R&D environment in the aquaculture/feed segment
  • Educational background may be in biology, food science, engineer, agronomy or similar
  • Systematic and persistent, but thrive even in a busy life
  • Safe use of MS Office suite and use Excel at high level
  • Good communication skills, both Danish and English, and like German
  • Forward moving with great professional curiosity, but also a team player with respect for others
  • Industrious and development-oriented
  • Flexible and able to travel
