RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage specific shift within the Packhouse and supporting departments to achieve operational targets & ensure procedures are adhered to.

*Management and development of people. Accountable for developing and maintaining a highly competent and engaged team by identifying areas of improvement in order to maintain a high skill base across production

*Work with the operations and planning teams to ensure the correct stock is available for production on time and with the correct quantities.

*Support Senior Operations Manager with reliable and accurate information and analysis regarding departmental performance.

*Monitor daily performance of the packhouse and taking a proactive approach to improve underperforming areas through coaching, training and redeployment of skills as necessary.

*Overall responsibility of the operation and management system ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met and costs are controlled.

*Champion a culture of "world class" performance through the implementation of Lean manufacturing techniques in order to improve quality, safety and reduce costs.



REQUIREMENTS
*Management experience in a labour intensive, high volume, fast moving environment supplying retailers within food or fresh.

*Experience managing a large team within a production environment is essential along with operating within a KPI's driven structure.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

*Proven experience in driving through continuous improvement activities.

*Excellent planning and organisational skills.

*Excellent leadership, problem solving and analysis skills.
