We are currently seeking a Charge Hand in the Abattoir Department to support the Management team in delivering high standards of quality, throughput and efficiency.
This exciting new role requires the ability to lead, motivate and effectively manage a manufacturing team, including deputising for the Abattoir Supervisor where required. Complete appreciation of legislation and the ability to implement, develop and maintain such standards throughout your area of responsibility at all times. Have adequate IT, written and verbal communication skills. Have a clear understanding of production quality and efficiency standards and requirements, planning processes with a clear understanding of the company, customer and regulatory food safety, health and safety for the area.
To be aware of the Company environmental policy and ensure that all actions and requirements of the environmental management system are implemented as required.
You will be responsible for ensuring flow of product through the area is at a consistent rate. Complete daily line start up sheets before production commences and report any issues immediately. Report and resolve machine issues quickly, escalating to Engineering and Production Management team as necessary. Assist with any audits and customer visits that are carried out in the department. Liaise with other departments (Engineering,Butchery, Despatch, Planning) regarding issues arising throughout the shift.
Your ability to motive and engage with the team is crucial to the role, with the development and training of staff in the forefront of your approach to take the department forward.
