What you'll be doing
You will manage the creative process within the product development category, whilst coaching and developing the team to maximise their creative potential, supporting your team to ensure they are focused, engaged and striving to the highest of standards at all times. As Senior Product Development Manager, you will need to ensure that you have sufficient resources in place at all times to enable you, and your team, to achieve against plan.
Working alongside the Marketing and Commercial teams, you will identify and suggest food trends to influence concept direction, aligned to the category vision. You'll also be looking to identify new and existing opportunities within the category.
A key focus of the role will be around building strong relationships, both internally and externally, to manage the customer's Product Development relationship. You'll act as the customer's voice on site to ensure that any issues are identified and resolved swiftly.
What you'll need
Of graduate calibre, within a food or related discipline, you'll have worked in a similar role and have a strong understanding of the principles and tools of product development and strategic management.
You'll have experience of leading and developing a team alongside the ability to influence through effective relationships with multiple stakeholders. Comfortable managing a budget and with strong customer focus in your mind at all times, you will be able to easily build sustained relationships. Alongside strong commercial acumen, you'll have strong project management experience and be at ease preparing and delivering presentations.
Within the role of Senior Product Development Manager, a good knowledge of food is a must, with previous experience within a food manufacturing environment.
