Electrical Technician, Milton Keynes £21-29K (Dependant Upon Exp):

Major Accountabilities
·Provide technical advice in troubleshooting and problem solving situations.
·Be able to interrogate and analyse relevant P.L.C. software
·Perform periodic Preventive Maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
·Provide input and recommendations for improvements to the Maintenance
·Management System, Permit to Work
·Procedure, work access and personal safety provisions.
·Regularly check quality of instrumentation to meet production, safety and legal
·requirements.
·Provide regular feedback and recommendations to improve the operability of
·plant machinery and equipment and reduce maintenance costs.
·Ensure all instrumentation and electrical documentation is updated and easily
·accessible.
·Ensure all current software in use on plant machinery and equipment is backed
·up regularly.
·Co-ordinate Instrumentation and electrical work during project work to
·achieve planned goals.
·The day to day instrumentation is mainly temperature and weight e.g. load
·cells.
·Also PLC work, weighing equipment, pressure and temperature control.
·
Education and Experience
·Electrical apprenticeship, HNC or higher qualification.
·Experience in similar plant and equipment.
·Be able to read circuit diagrams
·Be able to logically fault find
·Knowledge of Instrumentation (mainly temperature and weight e.g. load cells. Also PLC work, weighing equipment, pressure and temperature control)
·Be able to do basic fault finding using Siemens S5 and S7 software
·Be able to learn new PLC software
·Have a good understanding of basic electronic principles
·Have knowledge of current electrical regulations
