Assistant Farm Manager

You will be working for a well-established business which has become one of the leading UK producers in their sector, supplying into major UK retailers including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Tesco. The company aims to attract the right people to their business and enable them to grow and develop their careers.
This is a new position due to the ongoing success of the business and internal promotion. Reporting to the Farm Manager, your role is to help manage and add value to the main processes involved in the fresh produce production. You will ensure health & safety is consistently adhered to, assist in planning daily production tasks, manage pesticide application, plan and organise harvest and harvest logistics, coordinate labour allocation, provide Team Coordinators with clear instructions and coordinate staff training whilst consistently developing a constructive and motivated team atmosphere.
We are seeking a committed, confident and positive individual with an agriculture background and fresh produce (fruit) experience. You will have an excellent understanding of a fresh produce production business, financial awareness plus supervisory / team leading skills. You will also have a hands on approach, the ability to work under pressure and be able to demonstrate effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills in order to influence and motivate others. A full UK / EU driving licence is required plus a flexible approach to working hours.
The Assistant Farm Manager job is based in the Home Counties region and is paying £30,000 - £35,000 according to individual skills and previous experience plus 23 days holiday and company pension. The working hours are flexible due to the nature of the business; busy in the summer months and quieter in winter.
