You will be working for a well-established business which has become one of the leading UK producers in their sector, supplying into major UK retailers including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Tesco. The company aims to attract the right people to their business and enable them to grow and develop their careers.
The purpose of your role is to increase yield and add value to the main processes involved in soft fruit production. You will assist the Farm Manager (FM) in the technical aspect on the farm including irrigation, husbandry and spraying. You will ensure that all operations are completed to the required standards, ensure that products meet safety, legality and quality requirements, complete technical analysis, manage and develop the technical team, lead the growing strategies of crops, help to develop site & company blueprints and be a key part of innovation and crop development.
We are seeking a committed, confident and positive individual with a strong technical background within the agricultural food sector; fruit experience is essential. You will ideally be educated to a HND/degree level in a relatable agricultural or food technology discipline. You will also have a hands on approach, team leading skills plus be able to demonstrate effective and interpersonal skills in order to influence and motivate others. A full UK / EU driving licence is required plus a flexible approach to working hours.
The Technical Manager job is based in the Home Counties region and is paying £25,000 - £35,000 according to individual skills and previous experience plus 23 days holiday and company pension. The working hours are flexible due to the nature of the business; busy in the summer months and quieter in winter.
