This role is working for a well-established fresh produce supplier which has been founded for over 40 years. Part of a global group, the business is dedicated to providing the highest quality products to their customers which includes some of the major UK retailers.
As Quality Control Team Leader, you will work closely with the Junior Quality Manager to ensure the quality department is working effectively and efficiently within the production chain with the aim to provide accurate information to suppliers and deliver a good quality product that meets customer expectations. You will be required to lead the quality control team, supervising the product control at many stages, from incoming raw material through to positive release to customer. You will supervise the team activity, ensuring that practices and procedures are being adhered to and workload is being performed to a sufficient standard and speed. The role includes responsibility towards all training practices for the team and ensuring that all QCs individually and collectively are meeting the required standard in terms of performance and results.
We are seeking a confident individual who has previously held a senior position within the fresh produce industry, either at team leader or junior management level. You will have sound IT skills (intermediate in Excel and Word), ideally be educated to an A Level/degree standard in an agricultural discipline and be able to demonstrate a high understanding of quality control procedures. A full UK driving licence is essential and Spanish language would also be very beneficial.
The Quality Control Team Leader job is based in the East Anglia region and is paying a very competitive salary according to individual skills and previous experience.
