You probably won’t have heard of Red House Foods but since 2010 we have quietly made our mark becoming a significant gluten and dairy free food producer in the UK. Our privately owned company is driven by a passion for producing the highest quality and best tasting savoury gluten free food, both in frozen and fresh. We have been growing quickly and are looking to recruit someone with similar integrity and passion to lead the Quality Assurance team.

We produce everything from our dedicated gluten free production site in Amesbury Wiltshire, not far from Stonehenge and just north of the Cathedral City of Salisbury. It’s a wonderful area to live and work with close transport routes to London and the South West. 

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will oversee the QA function within the factory whilst providing support as necessary to both the Technical and NPD functions. The complex nature of our business means a strong knowledge of the entire technical system is required including Food Safety, quality assurance, allergen control, raw materials and finished product specification. Working knowledge of the BRC standards to the latest standard is essential. 

You will be responsible for the review and maintenance of the Quality Management System, ensuring the continuous running and development of the site QA team, ensuring food safety, quality and legality aspects of production and the products are adhered to. You will be required to manage the factory auditing process and assist in ensuring effective corrective actions are undertaken and verified. You will be responsible for managing the on-going product testing programme, ensuring hygiene standards within the production areas are maintained, plus ensuring the on-going product testing programme of raw materials, intermediate and finished products.

The Person

You will need to be a good communicator, logical and organised and an expert on process, quality, hygiene and teamwork. We are looking for someone qualified who has initiative and previous quality or technical management experience gained within a food manufacturing environment.
