The role of Accounts Assistant will primarily be focused on providing support for the management accounts function but will also provide cover and assistance to the purchase ledger, financial accounts and payroll teams.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Maintenance of Aurora data e.g.- new item setup, bill of materials etc
  • Maintenance and update of daily labour performance reports
  • Weekly reconciliation e.g. direct & indirect labour, purchase returns
  • Assisting with new product development costing
  • General day to day accounting responsibilities as guided by the Finance Manager & Management Accounts team
  • Supporting the Financial Accounts team with monthly & annual processing and reporting
  • Providing cover for the purchase ledger team – logging & processing supplier invoices
  • Providing cover for the payroll team – processing T&A, some basic payroll processing & reporting
  • Other adhoc work or analysis as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a manufacturing business
  • Experience in purchase ledger and ideally some exposure to payroll
  • A team ethic, self-drive, determination and a strong sense of logic
  • A proven analytical approach
  • Intermediate MS Excel knowledge – V/H Look Ups, Pivot Tables
  • Competent in other Microsoft office packages
  • Preferred experience of Aurora or another similar accounting system
