A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Rank Hovis to join the Manufacturing Team at the Southampton Mill site as a Quality Controller. This role will involve the maintenance of the Quality and Food Safety environment ensuring compliance to defined standards and policies both legislative and customer driven. You will be required to support the Management Team in all aspects of quality and food safety to raise standards and support cultural change and monitoring, reporting and development of quality and food safety goals within the organisations strategic plan.
To ensure that the people and plant operates in strict accordance with all guidelines, legislation and company specific requirements in terms of Health & SafetyEnsure the site complies with regulatory legislation.
Behavioural Safety Tours – attend and produce report.
Assist in the delivery of site targets that align to turnover, EBITDA and cash targets.
Ensure that all Rank Hovis Ltd Quality and Food Safety standards are adhered to meeting business specific, regulatory and customer requirements at all times – raw material intake through to delivery of finished goods.
Equipment calibration and monitoring.
Conduct internal quality audits including GMP, Hygiene and systems to defined schedules, communicate non conformances and work with site teams to identify and implement solutions.
Grist and recipe compliance.
Daily governance of Food Quality and Food Safety through adherence to defined schedules, systems, policies and procedures.
Interaction with Pest Control / Prevention contracted services and Hygiene Services provider to ensure that Food Quality and Food Safety is not compromised by pest activity and suitable hygiene standards are maintained.
Implementation of HACCP and TACCP to ensure manufacture and delivery of safe food.
Ensure production and delivery of bag and bulk product meets all aspects of customer requirements in terms of both quality and consistency.
Management and resolution of customer complaints to include root cause analysis and identification and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
To champion the concept of ‘continuous improvement’ – constantly challenging the status quo to drive improvements in Food Safety and Food Quality to meet customer requirements in line with the Rank Hovis Milling Ltd strategic plans.
Monitor performance in all areas to ensure agreed standard and targets are met,recommending actions and improvements as appropriate and monitoring results.
Ensure customer requirements are met in full.
Support the training of site personnel in all aspects of the Quality Management System including HACCP and monitor compliance.
Assist with the development of a high performing team culture through alignment to Rank Hovis Ltd purpose, vision, values and behaviors.
Ensure effective communication at all levels, internal, external and customers.
Support the development of 3 year business plan.
Project support as required.
