Maintenance Manager, Food Manufacturing, East Yorkshire
A fast-paced food manufacturing site is looking for a strategically minded engineering professional to take up the role of Maintenance Manager.
This food manufacturing site supplies the major retailers with their own label range of ambient products. The site is part of a larger group which has seen significant growth over the last few years and has strong plans in place to develop further across Europe.
The site has a number of complex manufacturing processes with a heavy reliance on the Engineering team to ensure the continued reliability of machinery. The objective of the Maintenance Manager role is to improve the performance and efficiency of the plant through a range of Continuous Improvement projects. Managing a team of Engineers you will be responsible for developing a self-sufficient team who have the confidence to run the Engineering department in your absence. You will utilise available data to create strategically thought-out maintenance plans rather than simply reacting to breakdowns.
Areas of responsibility will include:
- Team leadership and development
- Continuous Improvement projects
- Ensuring compliance with all operating standards
- Managing costs around labour and consumables
- Developing long-term maintenance improvement plans
We are looking for a strong people manager who has the depth of engineering experience to hit the ground running. You will have the ability to interpret data, gaining insight which will underpin your plans. Experience could come from the automotive, FMCG or food industries with a focus on man-management and strategic development skills rather than product background.
