A position has arisen for a Food Technologist working for a traditional and family owned business which produces high quality, great tasting products which can be found on the shelves of the major UK retailers as well as specialist establishments.
When it comes to product safety and stability, the company depend on the dedication and knowledge of their Food Technologists and talented technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented and driven Food Technologist, who is meticulous and eager to make food special. Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be responsible for a variety of technical aspects within the business, including shelf life analysis, play an active role in the traceability team, creation and maintenance of product and pack assembly guides, responding to customer requests and complaints, auditing food safety and quality systems, HACCP system improvements, allergen control, supplier and specifications approval plus assist in the preparation for the annual BRC audit.
To be considered for the Food Technologist, you will ideally be educated to a degree standard in a food science discipline and have good experience (1 year plus) in a related technical role in food manufacturing. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. You will also have proficient IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a UK valid driving licence is essential.
The Food Technologist job is based in the Central Scotland region and is paying up to £22,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday however flexibility is required.
