You will strategically oversee and effectively manage all aspects of the High Care and Low Risk production areas to ensure optimum operational performance both through the team and also utilising CI techniques. You will provide direction and support to actively drive Low Risk / Cookhouse / High Care Prep and High Care departments forward through proactively managing a team of Production Area Managers. You will actively promote a safety culture and ensure Health & Safety requirements are met through ensuring delivery of operational KPIs – both weekly / monthly. You will hold budgetary control of costs both direct and indirect facilitating and supporting the implementation of relevant systems in order to control costs. You will take full ownership of product quality facilitating the smooth transfer of products from NPD to Production further developing positive working relationships with the customer. You will ensure that production is adequately resourced at all times, planning ahead for peak periods. You will promote the vision, values and standards of the Company and the Samworth Brothers Group, building and developing manufacturing best practice within the Company. You will support and deputise for the Production Director when necessary.
You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of chilled food manufacturing ideally holding a degree level qualification to support this in a relevant subject area. You will have previous experience within a similar role within chilled food manufacturing ideally with experience of ready meals or comparable product. You will be competent in Microsoft Office programmes. You will be required to demonstrate a number of competencies, in particular the following which are critical to achieving success in the role: customer focus, planning and organising, communication, problem solving, team working, influencing, conflict management, people management, driving results and decision making.
