A leading blue chip chilled foods manufacturer is currently seeking a Quality Systems Manager. Reporting to the Head of Technical, the successful Quality Systems Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Quality Management System, ensuring effective HACCP controls are in place and auditing the system to ensure it operates efficiently and responsively to the needs of the Technical department. With 1 direct report, the Quality Systems Manager would be expected to work closely with all members of the technical team, covering for the QA Supervisors/Tech Admin as necessary.

The successful Quality Systems Manager will have a minimum of 2 years experience within an FMCG food manufacturing environment familiar with HACCP, ISO 9000 or BRC requirements.

Responsibilities of the Quality Systems Manager include:

- Ensure that there is a comprehensive and implemented quality management system in place
- Be aware of and inform the business of changes in customer COP`s, company Core Standards and UK and European Legislation.
- Interpret and understand gaps in the current systems and implement changes into the QMS through up-dated action plans.
- Lead HACCP in the business, ensuring that there is a systematic, comprehensive and thoroughly implemented system. 
- Review and up-date HACCP documentation, at least annually and at the introduction of new equipment, processes and products.
- Internal Audit System; ensure that the audits are completed to the schedule and that any non-conformances raised are followed up as per the procedure and all corrective actions are signed off
- Help to lead the business preparation for 3rd party and customer audits i.e. Hygiene, PPC and Unannounced GMP Audits.
- Pest Control - manage the folder, schedule etc working in conjunction with the contractor ensuring that the system is in line with the relevant COP.
- Working with the Specifications Technologist to ensure that any failed products are re-tested and any corrective actions implemented
- Provide ad hoc technical and administrative projects and support to the technical department as necessary
