Product & Packaging Development Technologist
An established purveyor of quality raw ingredients this food manufacturer currently supply a wide range of dried fruits, nuts and seeds. They are looking for a Product and Packaging Development Technologist to deliver exciting new products that innovate and inspire.
Working closely with the NPD team and reporting to the NPD Manager you’ll be a lynch pin in this dynamic business as you support all aspects of the product and packaging development plans for both branded and own-label products. You will also manage packaging innovation for the business including undertaking research into and expanding your knowledge of emerging packaging technologies and materials. Here you will ensure new and existing packaging are on trend, cost effective, environmentally friendly and comply with legislation.
In addition to the development aspect of your role you’ll also be supporting factory trials which will include coordinating with other team members to prepare and plan as well as assessing capabilities post-trial. There will also be administrative elements to the role as you maintain product information and documentation including minutes and action plan summaries as necessary.
Positive and pragmatic you’ll come from a food science or QA background and will have a few years’ experience already under your belt, or you may be a graduate looking to move on from your first job. A natural multi-tasker you’ll have top-notch communication and organisation skills with the ability to deal with complex products and packaging materials. You’ll need to have excellent prioritisation skills in order to effectively manage multiple projects along with close attention to detail, effective problem solving abilities and a flexible approach.
