Salary: circa £25,000pa

A well-known supplier of produce to the major retailers has an excellent opportunity for a candidate to join an established and experienced technical team. Reporting to a Head of Technical and Compliance as Compliance Technologist you will be tasked with ensuring that their technical standards meet the requirements of the UK customers together with legal/due diligence requirements. This role will work across all product categories with the remit from source to customer. It will suit a person ready for that next career step who has a foundation understanding of technical/quality standards

Position Responsibilities
*Ensure that systems used in all production operations will deliver compliance with product safety, legality and quality requirements in order to meet the Company's commitments to food safety legislation and HACCP.
*Work collaboratively with suppliers to maintain up to date technical information packs and ensure that suppliers have all the current accreditations required by customers. Highlighting gaps or future proofing.
*Monitor product compliance through UK testing programmes and log/trend results and address any non-compliances.
*Audit operations to ensure they meet the standards as laid down in customer specifications/policies and UK/EU legislation. Noting any H&S, GAP or Organic Integrity issues
*Identify issues that may affect product availability
*Support sites with their third party audit programmes
*Provide technical direction for the Production Teams and support their efforts to drive the total quality management strategy, ensuring teams are trained on technical standards
*Transfer information relating to technical and associated issues in both directions to improve business efficiency, highlighting any future issues
*Administration of technical data and filing of all documentation to optimise the use and flow of information

*Experience within a technical/quality role within the fresh produce sector
*Foundation level of understanding in technical/quality standards for UK retail
*Driven and autonomous character
*Good communicator and relationship builder
*Driving Licence
