Planning Manager - Kent - to £55k pa + Benefits

Our client is a leading food manufacturer who supply all the major multiple retailers. They are now seeking to appoint a Planning Manager, in what is a key role within the business, sitting on the site management team.

The Planning Manager will manage a team of 25 within Production Planning, Scheduling and Materials. The responsibilities of this role includes all scheduling and planning on site with full accountability for fulfilment of orders and raw materials, including variance, supply, usage and waste.

Applicants should have Supply Chain Management or Manufacturing Management experience from within a short shelf life environment, experience of managing staff working on shifts and practical experience of scheduling tools and techniques. Working knowledge of SAP would certainly benefit your application.

This position may appeal to a Factory Manager who has taken on some scheduling in the past, and is looking for a different challenge, or an established Planning Manager or Supply Chain Manager. As well as day-to-day responsibilities, there will be an opportunity to get involved in a number of projects, both of a CI nature and aimed at materials variance and materials usage. A number of improvement projects have already been implemented and the Planning Manager appointed will benefit from a hand-over period with the outgoing incumbent.

We are seeking applicants with the mentality not to be accepting of the status quo, someone who is continually seeking to improve and does not want to merely meet target but exceed targets and continually set more challenging goals. All applicants must be able to ‘work at pace` and must have experience within short shelf life products. Due to the fast pace and challenges, candidates who have only worked with long shelf life products cannot be considered.
