Reporting in to the Technical Director, this  is an amazing opportunity for someone who excels in forging ahead with new ideas.

The Quality Manager in this business plays a vital role. The responsibilities are wide-ranging including

  • To develop, own & implement blue chip manufacturing & retailer’s exacting standards including BRC grade A, ensuring food safety, quality assurance, environmental strategy, traceability, legality and due diligence.
  • Ensuring Quality & Safety remain at the heart of each operator & team performance.
  • Being instrumental in driving manufacturing performance through standards whilst enlisting a strong Quality Improvement Culture, through internal audit and risk based approach. QA Technicians, Hygiene Operative.

You will need to :

• Ensure all products manufactured meet all food safety, legal and quality criteria’s to ensure compliance with legislation and customer requirements.
• Develop and coach site teams to ensure that good manufacturing practice is in operation at all times through continuous improvement plans.
• Set clear and challenging goals and objectives (SMART) through appraisals.
• Develop and maintain an internal audit schedule to monitor and improve standards required by customer codes of practice, HACCP and BRC standards.
• Take responsibility for site HACCP team, ensuring all operations are covered by the HACCP plan and that appropriate procedures, documentation and training are in place to monitor CCP points.
• Be actively  involved and offer technical support in planning and capital justification of new line/ equipment installations.
• Develop and improve partnerships with key customer technical contacts.
• Maintain good relationships with home authorities Environmental Health,Trading Standards & Port Authorities
• Ensure that accurate customer specifications are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate & available internal product specifications & manufacturing methods.
 
 
The ideal candidate for this role will have


1. Senior Quality/Technical management experience within a food manufacturing or food service business.

2. The ability to raise/maintain standards and achieve BRC Grade A

3. Strong influencing, organisational and communication skills

4. A clear understanding of hygiene

5. H&S knowledge

6. An understanding of Food Microbiology & Chemistry

7. Proven Database skills (i.e. SAP/Concerto/MOVEX, Microsoft / Access)

8. Experience in Supplier audits
