The course revolves around studying the relationship between food, nutrition and health which are all topics that need to be studied when working in this environment. The course covers subjects such as physiology, microbiology, psychology and chemistry, as well as food science and nutrition related topics.  Students also have the opportunity to be put on a work based placement in the third year, which will help develop skills, knowledge and research for dissertation and future job interviews etc.
