My client is a leading food manufacturer in the UK and this particular site leads the way in terms of its specific products which are supplied to the major multiple retailers. The company would like to attract high quality Shift Manager applicants who can continuously improve and add further value to the business.

Main Purpose of Role:

To effectively manage the production of product in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring the processes, manufacturing and quality of our products meet the high specifications that this business sets out.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for all operations within the Processing areas whilst on shift.
2.To operate to the Key Performance Indicators as listed below .
3.Responsible for product quality ensuring all relevant recipes and processes are followed diligently and reporting by exception any change to process or recipe.
4.Responsible through the close management of your supervisory team for ensuring all relevant paperwork relating to Health and Safety, HACCP, and traceability is filled in legibly and correctly.
5.Responsible for ensuring best manufacturing standards are maintained at all times.
6.Responsible for the direct control of labour within the department on shift to include.
a) Discipline
b) Holidays
c) Absenteeism
d) Overtime
7.Responsible for developing a continuous improvement culture within the area of responsibility.
8.Ensure all staff complies with company and legislative Health and Safety procedures and regulation.
9.Complete other duties as and when required ensuring that the Company meets its objectives.

Key Performance Indicators
a)Reduction/Elimination of accidents within the area.
b)Plan Attainment – Daily/weekly
c)Product Yield- Both FMP based and sliced.
d)Reduction of Waste
e)Control of Labour
f)Improving plant efficiency.
g)Good Manufacturing Practice.

Shift pattern - 05:30 - 14:00 / 13:30 - 22:00 + 1 weekend in 7 to be worked

Experience of working in a similar role in FMCG is essential.
Experience of working in a similar role with low risk food products, especially meats / meat products, is desirable.

The successful candidate will have a history of achievement in their career to date. They will still be ambitious and willing to progress further within the food manufacturing industry.
