OUR CLIENT is dedicated to developing and producing high quality chilled recipe dishes for the major multiple retailers. They are part of a national food manufacturing group with a success story of continued year-on-year growth.

The Role:
To be responsible for the implementation and continual development of a robust QA system that meets all Codes of Practice and legal requirements as follows:

- To provide direction and support to the QA Supervisors, managing and facilitating their performance and development ensuring the departmental structure and skills are developed to meet changing requirements.
- To ensure that Operations are aware of key quality/micro aspects for acceptance of incoming raw materials.
- To give direction and support to the HACCP team in the development of new HACCP.
- To manage the relationship with and enquiries from government agencies eg. EHO, DEFRA.
- To establish and maintain QMS procedures for the QA function.
- To manage and develop the audit system in line with the quality management system.
- To ensure all relevant managers and operatives have undergone the necessary coaching and training on defined procedures.
- To ensure the customer complaint system is managed, liasing with M&S and providing management information to facilitate corrective actions.
- To provide the relevant input on quality issues as and when required, to the customer and Operations.
- To ensure budget targets are met.
- To promote a safety culture within the department, continuously identifying areas for improvement.
- To further develop and maintain a positive working relationship with M&S

The Person:
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be highly organised and self motivated. Candidates will also need to have previous experience within a fast moving operations environment in a similar role.
