My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Engineering Project Manager to be based at their Scottish sites with occasional travel to their English sites.
Core Function:
To be responsible for the successful planning and execution of designated capital projects such that these projects are delivered in a timely fashion and in accordance with the approved budget.
Position Responsibilities:
•Assist the Group Engineering Manager with development of capital expenditure plans and budgets on an annual and five year basis.
•Ensure designated capital projects are delivered on time within the approved budget and that the installed plant meets the expectations of the plant manager and the critical performance measures set out and agreed for the project.
•Ensure the participation and briefing of plant teams in respect of the design and implementation of designated capital projects.
•Ensure that payments made to contractors are consistent with the work that has been completed and suitable performance requirements have been met.
•Provide support and assistance to plant managers and site maintenance groups on repair and maintenance issues for critical plant items and for minor projects that may be carried out from time-to-time.
•Ensure that Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are fully complied with during the execution of capital projects.
•Assist with the promotion of best engineering and maintenance practice at each operating plant.
•Work with site management and the Group Engineering Manager to develop a suitable list of preferred suppliers for engineering services and seek to standardise, where possible, on service levels and equipment specification.
Skills, experience, education:
Requirements:
-Strong engineering background
-Electrical and/or control system knowledge would be advantageous however not essential
-Self confident and positive with proven leadership skills
-Strong interpersonal skills
