Specification Technologist required to work in a food packaging and processing site.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with raw material, ingredient and packaging suppliers in order to provide the site with full product/packaging specifications and also in order to maintain the sites database detailing certification information
To assess the product/ingredient ensuring it meets site policy and standards
To ensure all raw material/ ingredient/packaging checks are carried out against a valid specification and that the finished product specifications meet customer’s requirements
Ensure QAS sheets are completed and kept up to date
Ensure that all customers’ generic specifications are up to date and issued to Sainsburys indirect suppliers
Carry out structured reviews of finished product against Sainsburys brand standards to an agreed verification programme.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a food or FMCG environment. Previous knowledge of the Inspire System or any other Red Sky IT specification system would be an advantage although full training will be given. Good communication skills are essential.
