A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for a Packaging Technologist to work within my clients purchasing team. Reporting to the Business Unit Packaging Manager, you will be accountable for a portfolio of packaging, meeting agreed criteria for price, quality and service, delivering the company’s profit and customer service targets and supporting the NPD programme.
The Packaging Technologist will source existing and new packaging materials, co-ordinate trials with suppliers and internal customer representation and ensue appropriate lead times and stock levels are defined and maintained. In addition you will originate packaging print briefs and co-ordinate artwork, as well as reviewing product specifications and processes.
Other duties include co-ordinating internal investigations arising from supplier service and quality failures, negotiating prices with suppliers and any ongoing project work. You will develop a good understanding of the supply market dynamics and drivers, alerting the business to risks and opportunities and encouraging suppliers to provide new product ideas and concepts NPD.
